I has new Idea - free art for your thoughts!

hey guys!

so ive been thinking about this for some time and i think me and my friends might try to get it going! =X

To get the free art, please 'fav' this journal & hear me out and please leave any useful feedback you can.  If you dont like it - explain why or how i could improve.  If you do like it but have further suggestions - please let me know!
I will leave this jounral entry up for a couple weeks and i will choose 3 random people from comments & favs to draw a free sketch for.  i will contact you via note & ask for a ref.
okay...onto the idea...


ITS BASICALLY A SITE WHERE PEOPLE USE BARTER FOR ART.

-no money will be exchanged, therefore the site will not have any fiancial information of artists or users
-artists on the site offer their art (prints, commissions, etc) in exchange for goods/services
-EXAMPLE:  i have art for barter, local hairstylistist wants art.  They offer me a haircut for a set of my "seasons" prints.  If i accept, they get the prints and i get a haircut!
-EXAMPLE:  i have art for barter, popular internet blogger gets 3K pageviews a day and will feature my artwork on the front page if i draw a commissions for them.  If i accept, they get art and i get more exposure!
-EXAMPLE:  i have art for barter, another artist knits scarfs.  They offer me a customized scarf for a commission.  If i accept, i get scarf and they get art!
-of course art trades are always encouraged between artists.
-Artists list what goods/services they are willing to accept and what they have to offer,  so if you have a specific skill/item you can easily search on artists that will accept your trade.

So you get the idea.!  Because in this downturn economy, money is sparse but alot of people are doing their own thing with their own set of skills.  Bartering and trading has always appealed to me, and brings me back to olden times .  i also feel that bartering a skill is more personal and more likely to generate word of mouth exposure as well.  It's like small businesses trading with other small businesses. This will also be good for people that do not have access to online money transactions.

There are other specifics that i dont really need to get into at the moment (like day to day workings).  I just want feedback on the core idea. xD

SO:  if you are an artist, would you consider offering your art for barter?  i know it doesnt pay the mortgage bills, but you can get cool items/services that you normally might not spend money on.
