general steps for Autumn by unsolvedenigma general steps for Autumn by unsolvedenigma
Its not much of a "tutorial" but it does give a little step by step of what i'm thinking about when i draw full pieces. C:
one thing i would like to point out is that this is just my own self-taught way of doing things - nothing is meant to be official.

i should have used more refs - i can always use more refs. XD

let me know if there are any questions!

edit: woops - between steps 3. and 4. of the last page, i forgot to write one of the most important things! i Gaussian blur the new layer. anywhere from from 3.2 to 8.0 depending on the size of the drawing

Awesome! Been waiting to see something like this. I don't understand what you meant by "darken the darks" though.

oh - i meant to darkern the shadows - making them darker will make the highlights stand out more. C:

I really appreciate the tutorial. I'm trying to soak in all your techniques that vary from mine so I can try them out.

Your ability to Dodge and Burn minimally is what makes it so professional-looking.

thank you C:
i dont always use it - but for pieces that i know im going to print - i like a little help with the contrast and shine. :'D
i agree overuse of it is very noticeable and makes it look...for lack of words, not professional XD

I... I love this. I'm going to add this to my favourites, and use it as a reference of how to actually get a pose right instead of jumping RIGHT into the details XDDD
